As the Carlisle Borough Council Ambassador to Dickinson College this year I have worked hard to learn about local government structures, and systems while building relationships with those around me. I worked specifically to begin creating a Public Arts Fund policy and rallied for a land acknowledgement practice to be integrated into Borough Council. Wheel and Chain Honors Society

For the last 97 years at Dickinson College Wheel and Chain has existed to bring senior womxn who have shown leadership, humility and dedication together.

As part of my work with the Center for Civic Learning and Action at Dickinson College and my role as Borough Council Ambassador during the academic year of 2020-21 I co-created this workshop with colleagues.

Powershift Convergence!

As a Regional Recruitment Coordinator for Powershift Convergence 2021 I co-coordinated the Northeast cohort of pod organizers to recruit young people passionate about climate, economic and racial justice to attend and present at Powershift Convergence.

Through my organizing on campus I have spent a lot of time learning, thinking and talking about messaging and communication- because of Dickinson's sustainability narrative its hard to know how to lift the veil in sharing the realities and motives behind their action. Making banners, and putting them up is one intervention we have identified as effective.

livestock at the farm!

Through my work at the farm I have been learning about livestock and was able to bottle feed the lambs when they were born in early spring of 2021.

Cumberland Valley Rising

I have working with Cumberland Valley Rising (CVR) since fall of 2017 in different capacities, as an environmental committee coordinator and as a steering committee member since January of 2019. Through my work with CVR I host and help organize events and rallies in the greater Carlisle community.

Earth Day in Carlisle!

This spring I helped coordinate the earth week festivities in Carlisle, they were mostly virtual with some in-person components and offered a great chance to bring people together for climate justice.

Dickinson College Treehouse

As a co-house manager during the academic year 2020-2021 I learned a lot about community building in a hybrid (virtual and in-person) setting as well as building relationships that can contribute to open and honest communication. I also really honed in on my facilitation skills to help the house come together around covid norms we all felt safe with.

Dickinson Handlebar Scultpture

I created this sculpture as part of my Biking@ Dickinson internship with Dickinson's Center for Sustainability Education during the spring semester of 2019. Throughout my internship I worked hard to make biking more visible and accessible on campus through events and permanent installations like this one.

Divest Dickinson
Dance Theatre Group

Through my last two years at Dickinson I have participated in and thoroughly enjoyed the student dance company, Dance Theatre Group (DTG). I have gone from being an Irish dancer to a postmodern/contemporary dancer thanks to dance classes and co-curricular activities like DTG.

carrot season!

Working at the Dickinson College Farm since fall 2019 I have learned a lot. Farming has offered me a new way to connect to the earth with my physical body, through hard labor, and care for the plants so we can eat them and share the harvest!

Another Earth Day celebration online in Carlisle! In 2020 I coordinated the virtual Earth Day Celebration that brought local farmers, musicians, educators and advocates together for climate justice.

Teaching about Aquatic Macroinvertebrates with LeTort Stream Studies

I developed curriculum for 2nd graders in the Letort Stream Studies program in Fall of 2019 to use movement as a way to connect with the natural environment, and water, the way it moves and evolves just like our own bodies.

I enjoy making posters for rallies and events.

PA student power network

As a Regional Representative for Central PA in the spring of 2019 and a fellow in the fall of 2017 and spring of 2018 I learned a lot about statewide organizing with other students, and how to build momentum across different issue areas as well as build solidarity across different campuses.

River Semester

During Fall 2018 I spent 100 days paddling and learning about the Mississippi River through the Augsburg University River Semester program

Design and Innovation for Sustainable Cities

Summer program in Berkeley where I designed a park proposal with a group.

TreeClub Debate Watch Party

as a part of my activism on campus I try and bring people together to engage in issues that exist outside our college bubble.

#NoForceForUs

A cake delivered to Rep Barb Gleim of Cumberland County to talk about the use of force in unjust policing through PA Student power Network Day of Action

Canoe Camp Counselor

As a canoe camp counselor at Concordia Language Villages I have spent the last 4 summers leading trips in Voyageurs National Park and teaching French through wilderness skill building and outdoor living.

COP23

in November of 2017 I had the immense opportunity to attend the UN Climate Negotiations as part of the Climate Generation delegation. In this global activism space I was able to see how and why artistic actions garnered attention in a formalized international agency space.

SPROG Trainer Summer 2018

As part of the Sierra Student Coalition's summer program Sprog, I was a trainer for the Midwest program and built curriculum around movement building, climate justice and intersectionality. The map above was participant work after a workshop I led called Climate Justice 201 that talked about the need for intersectionality and solidarity across movements to shift our economies to be more resilient and just.
